11月14日消息，《纽约时报》今日发文称FTX破产给“有效利他主义”慈善运动碰上一层阴影，由于此前FTX慈善机构FTX Future Fund大多数慈善捐款都是“承诺”，因此大多数捐款都将无法兑现，其中ProPublica大约500万美元的捐款有三分之二被搁置。此外，《纽约时报》指出，除了与SBF密切合作的圈子之外，FTX基金会本身几乎没有任何监督，其董事会由SBF旗下对冲基金Alameda Research负责人Caroline Ellison、FTX首席技术官Gary Wang和FTX工程总监Nishad Singh组成。（纽约时报）
